This phrase describes the universal interests of most stitchers. The piece is stitched on #28 count cocoa vintage linen distributed by Zweigart the piece is stitched with Needlepoint Silk in colors of blues, greens, purple, gold and cream. The stitches included in this piece include spider web, priscilla, smyrna, queen, cross stitch over one, montenegrin, long arm, Bosnia, triple rice to name a few. The presentation is done in Power Point and includes interesting facts about tea and a historical review of stitches utilized. During class a preface piece which is a small design that includes many of the stitches contained in the actual sampler will be done. The class will be presented in a relaxed and comfortable manner. Description of Sampler: This sampler features the quote Love is a canvas furnished by nature and embroidered by imagination. The samplers dominant colors are peach, blues and taupe. The sampler contains pulled thread work and there will be a presentation on the history of pulled thread work during the class. Mistress Liles Tea Cup/Coffee Mug Cozy is based on motifs found on a charming, early 19th-Century Scottish sampler embroidered by 7-year-old Lile Gibson. This four-paneled project, designed to co-ordinate with the earlier Mistress Liles Tea Cozy, is embroidered on 32-count Belfast linen with eight different Sampler Threads: Forest Glade, Blue Jay, Pink Azalea, Hibiscus, Cinnamon, Sugarplum, to name a few, and five different Silks from Olde Willow Stitchery Threads, using a variety of familiar embroidery stitches. The focus panel shows young Mistress Lile offering you a cup of tea. Surrounding her, on the remaining three panels, are all the different tea types which originate from the single plant - Camillia Sinensis.
